MobileFrame proudly announces version 4.7 of our enterprise mobility platform. With this version, we have added a series of useful new features including:

• Database Setup Wizard.  This wizard helps users quickly and easily create a new MobileFrame database and set it up for use.  It will work with any/all databases supported by MobileFrame including SQL, Oracle and DB2 databases.
• Task Version History.  When you save a task (a mobile application), an automatic backup of that version will be generated and stored in the database.  You can review all versions of your tasks, rollback to a particular version, or export different versions of your task.
• Project Publisher.  With the new Project Publisher, Administrators can “publish” (export) entire Projects including mobile applications, enterprise data (static and dynamic), mobile workers, etc. This allows Administrators to move projects across servers from development to production and/or create complete backups of their projects.

MobileFrame Engineering is proud to announce that the release candidate for MobileFrame 4.7 is now available.  If you are a current beta program participant you can find the release candidate in the My Downloads section of our support site.  If you are not a beta program participant and would like to get the release candidate, contact your sales representative and they’ll be happy to assist you.

This release includes features like built-in and automatic version control, the all new Project Publisher, full 64-bit support, and many other significant improvements further fortifying MobileFrame as the best and most complete solution for enterprise mobility.

A Sneak Peek video outlining some of the cool new features of the upcoming 4.7 release has been made available to customers and partners.  If you’re an existing customer or partner, you can log into your support account at support.mobileframe.com to view the sneak peek videos.  You can find them under Presentations->Sneak Peeks.

MobileFrame Engineering is getting close to releasing the next version of our complete mobility solution into open beta.  MobileFrame 4.7 reintroduces DB2 support, built-in version control, several UI and performance improvements… and a few other surprises to be announced soon.

If you are interested in participating in the customer beta, please contact support to ensure your name is on the list and your beta license keys are sent.  You must be a current customer or partner to participate in the beta program.

In order to ensure the best quality experience for our users, Engineering has released a maintenance update to the MobileFrame 4.6 release.  If you’re a current customer or partner using MobileFrame 4.6, you can get the maintenance update file from the “My Downloads” section on the support site.

This optional update includes fixes for several minor issues reported by our customers and partners.  Read the release notes included in the download to see exactly what was addressed.

Note that you can apply the update to an existing MobileFrame 4.6 installation only.

Engineering is proud to announce that MobileFrame 4.6  is now officially available to customers and partners.  This release includes many new features such as enhanced authoring, new device management features including remote control of the devices, and the introduction of our GPS Tracking and Mapping modules.

If you’re a customer or partner in the United States and you use MobileFrame’s GPS Tracking and Mapping functionality, you’ll be happy to hear that Google has just upgraded their United States maps.  They’ve updated them so they’re more accurate and they’ve added more detail around things like campuses and parks so that trails and walkways are now shown.

Since MobileFrame partners with Google to provide the maps for our geocoding and mapping functionality, our customers will automatically benefit from these upgrades without having to do anything.

The candidate release of MobileFrame 4.6 left engineering last night and is now available.  MobileFrame 4.6 is the next version of our premier mobility solution  for small, mid-sized, and enterprise-class companies.  This release has many features including GPS tracking and mapping, vastly improved remote device management (including device interrogation and taking remote control of the device), enhanced authoring tools, and improved Administrator tools.

The MobileFrame 4.6 Sneak Peek video is now available to customers via the MobileFrame Support Site.  Engineering produces these videos with each release as a way to give our customers a tutorial of the new features and enhancements to the MobileFrame product line without having to read the release notes.  Enjoy!
