Contra Costa County has chosen MobileFrame’s Paternity Declaration Application

Contra Costa County, the ninth most populated county in the state of California, has chosen MobileFrame’s Configurable Mobile Application^TM Platform to automate California’s Paternity Declaration Application which collects the signatures of unwed parents at the time of a new born child’s birth. Prior to implementing MobileFrame, when a baby was born to an unwed mother, Contra Costa County had to have a form completed that listed both parents. The data on that form is completed by an estimated 2500 birthing clerks in over 700 birthing centers around California. Contra Costa County found this manual entry process to be timely and inefficient. In many cases, it would take the County months to get these completed forms back. EuropEXpress chooses MobileFrame’s Proof of Delivery Solution

EuroExpress has selected a version of MobileFrame’s proof of delivery application. EuroExpress, a Europian based organization of haulers and couriers, will be using MobileFrame’s home delivery application for truck pickup inventory from a warehouse, then delivery and assembly of the furniture at the customer’s location. Barcode Asset Inspection – Challenge Accepted

Here at MobileFrame we are pretty good at solving the problem of paper in the field. In this case we had a customer come to us with a very simple yet, annoying problem.

Here’s the current process:

Write the Barcode from the asset on a sheet of paper
Indicate if it passed or failed inspection
If the asset failed, indicate why

They were having problems with

The wrong asset tag information being captured (Transcription Error)
Forgetting to indicate why the inspection failed
Not turning in required paperwork in a timely fashion
Duplication of data back at the office.

2. Ask for feedback from the experts….your END USERS – Don’t forget to ask for feedback from the field workers that will actually be using the mobile application. It doesn’t matter what the application does if the mobile worker isn’t able to use it successfully. Simple is better, so plan ahead.

3. Take the time to train your team – Not everyone is as familiar with technology as we’d like. Someone needs to help others understand how to operate their new device (even how to turn it on). Going from a paper work order with a 2 way radio to a mobile computer with a wireless work order system is a paradigm shift so plan ahead. Even better, create a user guide for them.
