The Only Complete Enterprise Mobility Solution

Ryder Trauma Center, University of Miami Purchases MobileFrame For 2,000 User Deployment

Ryder Trauma Center at the University of Miami, selected MobileFrame’s enterprise mobility platform to implement mobile applications across their operations.   Ryder Trauma Center has many years of experience in custom coding applications and found that method too labor intensive, so they were looking for a platform like MobileFrame to make the job easier. They needed to be able to deploy checklists, applications outlining medical procedures, ‘how to’ data about handing off a patient to other team members after a procedure, and collect billing information, etc. Their doctors don’t always have connectivity, so MobileFrame’s thick client is ideal.  And, every doctor wants applications that are unique to them, so MobileFrame’s ability to deploy applications quickly and to make changes to current applications was key in winning the account.  The mobile applications are being deployed to 2,000 resident users.

Although application development tools are commonplace, those tools require costly, time-consuming development to create business applications. Moreover, such business solutions tend to be inflexible, requiring expensive custom programming whenever business processes change. As business processes evolve, MobileFrame’s software provides unparalleled flexibility to create new mobile applications of any degree of complexity and incorporating any mix of business processes.  The software then seamlessly deploys the new applications to the field wirelessly “on-the-fly.”  With its flexibility and ease of use, MobileFrame’s enterprise mobility software will allow Ryder Trauma Center at the University of Miami to quickly deploy their diverse mobile applications and make changes as needed, without time-consuming and expensive development efforts.

“Ryder Trauma Center’s IT personnel know mobility exceedingly well.  When they conducted discovery on MobileFrame they knew all the most difficult questions to ask.  Not only did MobileFrame successfully answer those questions, we demonstrated our software live to prove each answer–this was instrumental in us winning their business.”            — Lonny Oswalt, CEO of MobileFrame

About Ryder Trauma Center at the University of Miami

The Ryder Trauma Center at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center – one of the world’s leading facilities – excels in every aspect of trauma care, saving thousands of lives each year. This world-renowned, state-of-the-art center is operated by Jackson Memorial Hospital in conjunction with the University of Miami Department of Surgery under the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Services.

The Ryder Trauma Center is the only certified Level I trauma center in South Florida for adults and children. The center is geared toward lowering the preventable death rate by speeding up the delivery of trauma care during the “golden hour”, the critical 60 minutes after an injury. Jackson Memorial Hospital sees over 8,000 emergency patients per year — about 3,600 at the Ryder Trauma Center. Approximately 30 percent of the general admissions result from gunshot wounds, stabbings or falls, and 70 percent are the result of blunt trauma, vehicular accidents, and various other causes. Children make up about 10 percent of all patients seen at the center.

Since its founding in 1992, the Ryder Trauma Center and its medical staff have developed a worldwide reputation for clinical excellence. Surgical and medical teams from throughout the United States and the Caribbean as well as from Russia, Japan, England, Italy and France have visited the four-story, free standing, 166,000-square-foot trauma center to study advanced trauma care.

Today, the Ryder Trauma Center is the centerpiece of Miami-Dade County’s trauma care system, offering world-class clinical care to all residents, regardless of ability to pay. As an integral part of Jackson Memorial Hospital – which is operated by the county’s Public Health Trust – the Ryder Trauma Center draws upon both the specialized resources of the hospital and the University of Miami School of Medicine.  For further information visit our website at http://surgery.med.miami.edu/x393.xml.
